Welcome to Sawyer Savings Bank’s 2025 Calendar Photo Contest!
Starting August 1st, 2024, Photographers are encouraged to enter scenic landscape photos that capture the beauty of the Hudson Valley region for a chance to have their photo featured in our 2025 calendar with one grand prize winner receiving $250 gift card prize and the coveted Calendar Cover!!
14 photos will be selected in total, with the 2nd place winner receiving $150 gift card, 3rd place winner receiving $100 gift card, and remaining honorable mentions receiving $50 gift card each.
Sawyer Savings Bank typically provides wall calendars at each of our branches for customers and community members. These calendars have showcased the incredible beauty and nature within our Hudson Valley community. For 2025, we want to showcase the Hudson Valley though YOUR lens!

Photograph Requirements:
Photos must be horizontal (“landscape”), high-resolution, color, and provided in electronic format. Do not add watermarks, dates, logos, names, etc. to photographs.
When taking and selecting your photos, keep in mind that all photographs must fit the horizontally-oriented format of the calendar.
Take photos with the “highest” JPG quality for best results. A minimum of 10″ × 8″ at 300 PPI, or 3000 × 2400 pixels accepted. Photographs with slightly lower resolutions will be reviewed and considered but may be rejected.
Photographs must be scenic Hudson Valley shots that focus on our banking communities. Areas of focus: Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, and Orange Counties.
Please use outdoor/scenic photos without identifying people. We are looking to cover all four seasons in our calendar. Seasonal, landscapes, wildlife, floral, and town photos are all acceptable; however, if buildings or structures are present, there should be nothing that includes or identifies company/organization branding.
Portraits or photos of people are not eligible (including selfies, close ups of faces, family photos, etc) and will be automatically disqualified.
Photo must be submitted with photographer name, address, email address, description and location of photo. For example; John Smith, Sojourner Truth State Park, Kingston, NY.
Sawyer Savings Bank reserves the right to color correct and/or crop photo entries if necessary.
Winners:
14 Winning photos will be chosen (1 per calendar month + 1 cover photo + 1 Employees Choice).
Independent Judging will take place within a few weeks following the submission deadline of 9/6/24. We will also hold an internal “SSB employees choice” selection among the remaining entries. Winners will be notified by phone and/or email after judging has been completed.
Winners will be notified by phone or email by September 15, 2024.
The Grand Prize winning photograph will be awarded a $250 gift card prize and the Calendars Cover, Second place winning photograph awarded a $150 gift card prize, Third place winning photograph a $100 gift card prize, Each honorable mention winning photograph will be awarded a $50 gift card.
Each winner will receive 3 calendars mailed to their listed address when available.
Rules:
Calendar entries will be accepted starting 8:00am August 1, 2024 to September 6, 2024. Entry deadline is September 6, 2024 at 5:00pm EST.
To qualify for entry, the photographer must be at least 18 years of age and a local resident residing in Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, Columbia or Orange Counties. You do not need to be a bank customer or a professional photographer to enter.*
Each individual may enter a total of three (3) photographs. Photos submitted must be the entrant’s own original work.
Photograph submission formats:
Only horizontal color photographs will be accepted.
Photographs must be scenic Hudson Valley shots that focus on our banking communities (no people in photographs.) Market are focus: Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, and Orange Counties of New York State.
Photographers may submit up to three photos for consideration; however, only one (1) photograph per photographer may win. Keep in mind that the selection committee seeks to feature an interesting variety of seasons, subjects, and locations.
Photographers may only submit their own photos.
Photographs taken by drone will need proof the photographer is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Photos must be received electronically. Photos must be sent in jpg or tif format, and should be taken at a high resolution (300 dpi or higher). Max file size is 25 MB.

Photos may also be emailed to marketing@sawyersavings.bank . In the body of your email, please include your name, address, phone number, email address, and location of your photo(s).
Entries not following these specifications will not be considered.
By submitting an entry, contestants agree to the terms of the release form that gives Sawyer Savings Bank the full rights and use of the selected photos for calendars and other marketing purposes (website, signage, social media etc.). Winning photos may also be used in future advertising, lobby displays, social media outlets, and on Sawyer Savings Bank’s corporate websites to promote the contest. Please note that Sawyer Savings Bank is not responsible for lost photographs or emails.
